Catch the phone and email swap

A carrier that changed its phone number last week looks the same on today's record. Carrier history shows what changed, when, and what it said before.

A carrier's History tab, all five changes, newest first: the phone number and email on record changed, old to new; liability insurance (BIPD) no longer on file; the physical address changed; a federal out-of-service order issued; operating authority now active.

The History tab. One carrier, newest first. Each row names the change, old value to new, with the date fleetfax saw it.

Product view with fictional carriers, numbers and contacts.

Why it matters

See what changed on the record, and when

Contact changes, old to new

A new phone number or email on a carrier you have used for years is worth a call. See the number it replaced and the day it changed.

Authority, insurance, out of service

Authority going inactive, liability insurance coming off file, an out-of-service order. Each one is a dated row with a link to check it at FMCSA.

On any carrier you open

History is on every carrier report, in your book or not. Filter by category, or pick a date to see the record as it stood that day.

How it works

Three clicks from search to answer

  1. Open a carrier

Search by USDOT or MC number, or open one from your book.

  2. Go to History

The last 90 days are summed up at the top. Every change sits below it, newest first.

  3. Read old against new

Each row says what changed, what it was, what it is now and when. Filter to the categories you care about.

Free and Pro. A free account sees how many changes each category had in the last 90 days, on any carrier. Pro shows every change since June 2026, with its date and the old and new values.

Questions

Carrier history, answered

What does a free account see?

The History tab's summary: how many changes each category had, such as one contact change. Pro shows each change with its date and its old and new values.

Which changes does it show?

Phone and email, physical and mailing address, legal name and DBA, officers joining or leaving the record, authority status, liability insurance coming on or off file, out-of-service orders, fleet size and safety rating.

How far back does it go?

To when we started recording each category. Contact, address, name and officer changes from June 2026. Safety rating from July 2026. Authority, liability insurance and out-of-service from August 2026. Fleet size from September 2026.

How is this different from the Authority and insurance tab?

That tab lists the filings themselves, and it is free. History shows what changed on the carrier's record from one day to the next.

Do I need to add the carrier to my book?

No. On Pro, History works on any carrier you open. Carriers in your book also flag the change on their row, so you see it without opening each one.
