Vetting a carrier is one thing; being able to show months later what you saw when you booked is another. A dated record keeps the second one.
On Pro you can file this as you work: a time-stamped proof-of-vetting record against the load, ready when a claim or an audit asks. Pro has not launched yet.
See how often a carrier's record changes
Every carrier you watch carries a count of what changed in the federal record over the last 12 months: how many insurance changes, how many authority changes. A record with a dozen changes in a year reads differently from one with two, and the counts show you that at a glance.
The Pro timeline Pro: one carrier, June 19 to July 14. Inspections and crashes carry the date FMCSA recorded them. Rows tagged observed by fleetfax are day-over-day differences in the carrier's own record, dated to when fleetfax saw them move, and they name both sides of the change: an officer field going from empty to a name on July 4, and a prior-revocation flag clearing in the census record on June 19. Filter by category to read one thread at a time, or set an as-of date and see the record as it stood on the day you checked. Officer names in this view are fictional and the carrier is not named.

The weeks between a cancellation and an inactive authority Pro
When a carrier's liability coverage is cancelled, its authority does not switch off with it. The record keeps reading active for weeks, and that is the record anyone checks before tendering a load. fleetfax Pro will tell you when the cancellation lands in the federal record, rather than when the consequence catches up to it.
One carrier's record, read on August 18, 2026. Authority reads active, granted in September 2025, with no revocations on record. In the same card, liability reads $1M on file with a cancellation already filed for October 1, 2026, forty-four days out. Nothing on the authority side changes when that date arrives, and that gap is the whole of what this section describes. The cancellation is one the federal cancellation record corroborates; a bare end-date on a filing reads as an end-date instead, and the card says so differently.
