Effective: June 30, 2026
We do not sell your data, and we never share it for advertising or anyone else's independent use.
fleetfax is a carrier-vetting tool for freight brokers, factors, and shippers. It works directly on this site, or as a Chrome extension you can install from the Chrome Web Store. We collect only what we need to return a carrier report.
What you put in, and what we do with it
Carrier searches. The USDOT, MC number, carrier name, phone number, or contact email you type is sent to our backend, which looks up the carrier in the FMCSA public registry and returns the result. We cache results briefly so repeat lookups for the same carrier are fast.
Ask assistant. The carrier report has an optional "Ask" box. When you submit a question, your question and a compact summary of that carrier's public federal record are sent to a third-party AI provider that writes the answer. The request carries no account or identifying information about you, and the answer is drawn only from that carrier's public record. If you'd rather not use it, just don't submit a question.
Feedback and bug reports. If you send feedback or email our support address, we receive your message and the email address you optionally provide. We use it to read, respond to, and act on what you tell us.
Search history (Chrome extension). Your last 20 lookups are stored in your browser's local extension storage. They never leave your device. The extension does not run on any web page and cannot read your browsing history, cookies, or logins on sites you visit.
Analytics
We use standard, anonymous analytics to see how the tool gets used and where people get stuck, so we know what to improve. It records ordinary usage like page views and the kind of search you ran, with no account and no profile of you: USDOTs and emails are hashed before they leave your browser, and anything you type is masked and never recorded. On the carrier report we also run a masked session replay that can show only the public data already on the page and where you clicked, never your inputs.
Any ad-blocker or browser privacy setting turns all of it off, and fleetfax works exactly the same.
Service providers
To deliver the product we use a small number of standard service providers for hosting, email delivery, product analytics, AI-assisted answers, and processing of support requests. Each one receives only the specific data needed to perform its narrow function — for example, our email provider receives the contents of a feedback message so it can be delivered to our support inbox. None of them receive your data for advertising or for any independent use of their own.
Your rights
You can ask us what we have on you, ask us to delete it, or ask us to correct it. Email [email protected] from the address you originally used and we'll respond within 5 business days. California residents have the rights described under the CCPA and CPRA, and this is how you exercise them with us.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top updates with it. Material changes are also summarized in the Chrome extension's release notes on the Chrome Web Store.
